Just look for the bamboo steamers stacked up high at the entrance to find this simple, two-storey shop. It isn’t the ambiance that appeals to diners, it’s the food – for over 40 years everything on the menu has been made by hand. Try their xiao long bao boasting 18 pleats on each bun, and their steamed pork and bok choy dumplings with wafer-thin skin and juicy fillings. Mung bean vermicelli soup with fried tofu and crab roe buns are also recommended.
