Chef Igor Macchia claims to have fallen into cooking by chance: he started inventing his own meals as a boy, when he had to make his own lunch after school because his parents were still at work. This experience lit the spark that has fired his overwhelming passion for cuisine ever since, an all-consuming interest that only increased during his years studying at hotel school followed by years gaining experience working abroad. With its welcoming dining room and touches of modern elegance, La Credenza is in fact a veranda with large windows letting in plenty of natural light and overlooking a charming garden where coffee and evening aperitifs are served. The cuisine here (meat and fish) is highly creative and clearly described by business partner Giovanni Grasso. Sommelier Franca will talk you through the impressive wine list: more than 1 500 labels are stored in two cellars, which are open to the public.
