In this well-maintained half-timbered house set in an idyllic location on the Rhine, chef Thomas Lösche celebrates cuisine that puts top-notch ingredients and craftsmanship centre stage. For example, he emphasises the excellent quality and characteristic flavours of Berkshire pork from the Black Forest, cleverly underscoring those flavours with an accompanying sweet-and-sour note. This is cooking that eschews frills in a bid to remain true to the authenticity with which this house is synonymous. The wine list features a good selection of Austrian labels. And then there is the terrace with a magnificent view of the Rhine – best enjoyed at sunset!
