Johann Schmuck runs his chic modern restaurant in the basement of a historical mill that dates back to 1581 – tables on the terrace overlooking the Stainzbach River are coveted in summer. He and Maximilian Grandtner are jointly in charge of the kitchen. They devise two seasonal surprise menus: one comprising four courses and the seven-course "Terra" set menu. Most of the ingredients used are sourced from the region. The friendly and professional service team includes sommelier Joachim Retz, who specialises in wines from Styria and Burgenland. Tip: Enjoy an aperitif in the bar lounge. There is also a menu of small snacks – ideal if you just want to drop in for a glass of wine.
