It's located at the Ten Thousand Waves Resort at the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo mountains, but Izanami may just convince you that you've left Santa Fe for Japan. This izakaya has all of the trappings, including an impressive sake list with some unexpected bottles. This spot begs for a group so you can try a little bit of everything, including appetizers like chicken karaage with spicy aioli or tender, house-made gyoza. Miso-marinated Chilean sea bass or smoked pork ribs are two standout entrees, but don't leave without trying one of their Japanese rice puddings.
