Located in Phoenix's Grand Avenue neighborhood, this cozy spot features wood-fired Sonoran cuisine. It's popular but it's worth planning ahead to enjoy Bacanora's tempting offerings. The menu of sharable dishes, presented as either large or small plates, changes regularly, but house staples include the ember-roasted elote, or spicy corn on the cob dressed up in a spicy limon crema and topped with cotija cheese. Order the Two Wash Farms pollo asado: it's a massive platter of tender, crispy-skinned chicken served with a plethora of accoutrements including pinto beans and their delicious, house-made thin tortillas with asadero cheese. End with Abuelita’s spiced hot chocolate ice cream served in a frosted dish with orange zest and tostada crumble.
