Yes, the Alfa Crux winery is a little more than 100 km (62 miles) from Mendoza, but... it’s certainly worth the trip! Its spectacular views and facilities, which include a terrace overlooking a lake teeming with carp, serve as a clear catalyst, inextricably linked to the local wine and food culture. The experienced Irish chef Edward Holloway, who declares himself passionate about fire and family cooking, decided to settle here to champion a tasting menu (Experiencia, 6 courses, with vegetarian option and different wine pairings) built around Mendoza’s best products, with meat dishes being the main protagonists. For its texture and flavour, we especially liked the double-cooked ribeye, chives, Mendoza potato cake, crispy egg yolk and demi-glace sauce. A fun extra? The Experiencia menu includes the Alfa Crux visit, which allows you to explore the winery and taste three wines during the tour.
