The view of the Oude Rijn and the authentic sawmill charms you as soon as you walk into this characterful restaurant (that terrace!), but chef Van der Pluijm's cuisine also deserves attention. His style is modern and restrained, with subtle cosmopolitan accents. For example, he cooks bavette to a beautiful pink and serves it with a creamy parsnip purée, mushroom duxelles, pommes dauphine and a slice of fried goose liver. The plates are beautifully presented and combine classic touches with refined creativity, without excess.
