Båstad might be known as Sweden’s centre of tennis, but Chef Magnus Nilsson is also aiming to put it on the map as somewhere to visit for its cuisine. In the centre of the seaside resort – also famed for its Cold Bath House – sits this beautiful white building dotted with green balconies, where three simply decorated, wood-furnished rooms provide a perfect match for the unfussy cuisine. The spettekaka dessert is not to be missed – a local speciality made from traditional Scanian pastry, slowly grilled all day over beech embers, then cut to order at your table and served with daily changing accompaniments.
