Rustic wood features and original decorative touches combine to create an upscale, minimalist setting. Beautifully situated in the Bayerwaldhof spa hotel, which overlooks the village of Liebenstein, Leos is a modern take on a traditional Stube – a small, cosy dining space – with just four tables. The stylish look and pleasantly relaxed atmosphere are complemented by the carefully considered, clearly structured dishes that come courtesy of chef Stephan Brandl. Outstanding ingredients are prepared with the utmost precision and creativity, as exemplified by the delicately cooked Scandinavian pike-perch with fragrant sauerkraut, Jerusalem artichoke in various textures and a lightly aerated Riesling sauce that provides a wonderfully harmonious finish. A five- or seven-course set menu is served, with a choice of starter, main course and dessert. There is also a well-curated selection of wines that can be ordered by the glass. Special mention goes to Lena Nowack, your charming and attentive hostess and sommelier, who leads the highly professional service. Nice to know: If you dine here as a hotel patron, you pay a much lower price for the set menu.
