1er restaurant que mon mari m'a offert, et on a choisi ce restaurant pour notre mariage. On aime la douceur de vivre qui y règne, dans ce cadre intemporel. La nature environnante comme la bâtisse en elle-même sont magnifiques. La cuisine est raffinée, moderne et faisant appel aux épices. Très bon rapport qualité/prix !

Je n'ai pas encore eu l'occasion de déguster un dessert à la mesure des autres plats, le chef serait-il plus salé que sucré ? Sinon, effectivement, se rendre aux Etangs de Guibert impose de savoir être patient. Je préciserai tout de même que cette patience est certainement dûe à l'accueil du personnel, avec lequel il est très aisé de dialoguer.

Beautiful situation, great view from terrace

One hour to wait to order - we were ignored and went to find a waitress to ask if there was a problem in the kitchen. Told no, we ordered a five course menu for €44, mineral water, a half bottle of white and a full bottle of red wine. After three hours, we had only just finished out third (of five) courses. The service was atrocious: we asked five times for another bottle of water; we received the (expensive) red wine but no glasses. We took clean ones from another table, which were not appropriate for the quality of the wine. Yet there were empty tables and several waitresses, not to mention la patronne, whom we also asked for the missing water but to no avail. They appeared to have been trained to ignore rather than to respond to their customers. The food was not worth the wait: it was poorly cooked, poor quality and belied the descriptions on the menu. After the main course, and three and a quarter hours, we decided to quit and asked for the bill. We were expecting an apology but, despite having explained why we were abandoning our meal, we were charged the full amount. We took exception to paying for things we had not eaten and had not yet been prepared and asked for them to be reduced from the bill. We were then told that we had not had to wait for anything by le patron! We finally left after a grudging reduction for the cheese and dessert, feeling that it had been the worst culinary experience of our lives - both in terms of food but also that the owners did not understand the concept of serving their customers. We do not recommend this restaurant.
